The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office is seeking an individual with a passion for public service to join their team as a Sheriff's Community Services Officer!

Starting salary up to $34.27/hour ($71,525/year) and a competitive total compensation package!

About The Position

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking a Sheriff’s Community Services Officer to work in their Property/Evidence Unit. The unit receives, catalogs, safely stores, transports, and maintains the integrity of evidence, found property, and property taken for safekeeping. This position will be responsible for maintaining security and control of all property and evidence held by the Sheriff’s Office for the Property/Evidence Unit, and conducting work both indoors and outdoors, often traveling by car to other locations.

Sheriff’s Community Services Officers frequently research cases detailing disturbing criminal acts and may be exposed to harmful substances or bodily fluids.

Qualifications

Any combination of education, training, and experience that would provide the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, a high school diploma or equivalent and some experience in a clerical, customer service, or legal/law enforcement setting which included assisting the public or customers. Academic coursework in law enforcement or a closely related field and/or experience working in a law enforcement or public safety agency is desirable.
