The County of Sonoma Human Services Department is seeking a qualified IT professional to join their team as a Human Services Network Analyst!
Starting salary up to $68.26/hour ($142,466/year) and a competitive total compensation package.
Responsibilities- Perform complex technical duties within the IT unit of the Human Services Department.
- Administer and manage systems including Microsoft Office 365, Azure, Palo Alto Network technologies (firewall, SD‑WAN, Prisma, SASE, ZTNA), enterprise email (Exchange Online, ProofPoint Enterprise), virtual desktop environments (Azure Virtual Desktop), identity management (Active Directory, Entra ), and Cisco network (routing, switching, Wi‑Fi).
- Oversee a range of network and system technologies, including:
- Palo Alto Networks technologies – firewall, SD‑WAN, Prisma, Global Protect
- Microsoft 365 Administration – Entra , Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, Share Point
- Azure Architecture, Provisioning, and Management – Virtual Machines, Virtual Desktop, Networking
- Windows Server technologies – Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, MS SQL, SMB, Printing, Power Shell
- Dell Enterprise Servers and Storage Area Network Appliances
- Network Security Design – LPA, SASE, ZTNA, ALZ
- Vulnerability Scanning and Remediation – Microsoft Defender, NMAP, Tenable
- Data Sensitivity Tagging and Data Loss Protection – Azure, Microsoft Purview
- Packet Capture and Analysis – Splunk, Wireshark, Fiddler
- Network Monitoring – Solar Winds, NAble, Logic Monitor
- Third‑Party Sec Ops and MDR Services – Adlumen, Arctic Wolf, Crowd Strike, Red Canary
- A.I. assistants – Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude
- Enterprise Backup
- Email Security – SPIF, DMARC, SPF, encryption
- Third‑Party Email Security – Mimecast, Barracuda, Proofpoint, Ironscales
- Develop contingency plans, design network architectures, conduct cost‑benefit analyses, establish security practices, and manage network protocols.
- Lead implementation of major projects and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure mission‑critical network requirements are met.
- Experience: Minimum three years designing, installing, and maintaining complex multi‑site LANs and WANs.
- Education: Equivalent to a two‑year college degree with major coursework in a related field.
- License: Valid driver’s license at the appropriate level with required special endorsements.
- Knowledge of:
- Network and IT architectures, bandwidth concepts, network management systems, advanced network technologies.
- IT security methods and policies, agency‑level business and mission requirements, project management principles.
- Working Knowledge of: Customer service protocol and operating environments sufficient to install, configure, and maintain operating system components.
- Abilities:
- Develop contingency plans for continuous network availability.
- Design network architectures and conduct total‑cost calculations.
- Establish security practices and maintain network protocols.
- Coordinate implementation planning and oversee testing.
- Lead the implementation of major projects.
