The janitor is responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. Vacuums and buffs floors, shampoo carpets, empty trash receptacles, and replace the lining of trash cans.

• Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc)
• Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
• Notify management of deficiencies or repairs needed
• Make minor repairs and adjustments
• Stock and maintain supply rooms
• Cooperate with staff and uphold safety and sanitation standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to observe safety procedures and policies
• Ability to read, interpret, and communicate effectively in writing and orally
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and operate equipment
• Attention to detail and ability to follow schedules
• Professionalism and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

$17.87 - $18.50 per hour, DOE
