Who are we looking for?At GHD we are looking for a new Construction Engineering Intern to join the Construction Phase team at our Irvine, Santa Rosa or Phoenix office. In this role you will supervise the daily execution of work at construction sites to meet quality and timeliness requirements.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:- External Communications:
Use the external communications system to access and supply specific information. - Construction Management:
Provide operational support in a construction project by performing a range of routine activities using existing systems and protocols. - Health, Safety, and Environment:
Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks and safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others. - Work Scheduling and Allocation:
Design own monthly schedule and, if necessary, assign work to others in order to speed up office workflow and ensure high-priority tasks get done. - Leadership and Direction:
Explain the local action plan, to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done, and how this relates to the broader business plan and the organization's strategy, mission, and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals. - Performance Management:
Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal. - Organizational Capability Building:
Provide instruction and informal advice to less experienced colleagues within the team to develop their skills. - Quality Assurance:
Conduct complex analyses, quality tests, and inspections that require a high level of independent judgment. - Operational Compliance:
Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
- Currently enrolled in construction engineering or equivalent Bachelor's or Master’s degree program

No experience required.
Salary Range: $20,000 - $26,000 based on experience and location.
