Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Manufacturing Technician 3 or Manufacturing Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position falls under one of Northrop Grumman s Small Business Units,
Sonoma Photonics, Inc
. and will be located onsite in Santa Rosa, CA.
The selected candidate will report to the Production Manager. This position falls under one of Northrop Grumman s Small Business Units, Sonoma Photonics, Inc. and will be located onsite in Santa Rosa, CA.
Essential Functions
- Performs functions associated with all thin film coating operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, chamber foiling, coating, and analyzing and inspecting.
- Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct adjustments to instruments and equipment.
- Ability to follow critical work instructions for assigned platform (past and present) and related analytical equipment.
- Works with engineers in conducting testing and process development and documentation.
- Handling and managing fragile composite materials.
- Help prepare calibration run-sheets, coats calibration runs, learn to analyzes results, and learn to help revise tooling factors for calibration runs.
- Adhere to all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines and regulations
- Work and communicate over ambient noise
- Work in a variety of work spaces/positions. Work spaces may include but are not limited to small, enclosed spaces, awkward, and elevated spaces. Positions may include bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, ascending/descending ladders, and/or working overhead.
- Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends
This requisition may be filled at a Level 3 or 4 Manufacturing Technician based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications:
Manufacturing Technician 3:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years’ related manufacturing experience
- Experience in Thin Film Coating, deposition chambers, or related environments
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DOD security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Candidate must be flexible with work shift, off shift is preferred
- Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes
- Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 25 lbs.
- Experience with a variety of small hand tools, calibration tools, and measurement tools.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years’ experience Thin Film Coating or related environment
- Experience in Thin Film Coating, deposition chambers, or related environments
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DOD security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Special Access Program…
