Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients in the labor and post-partum units. This includes patient assessments, medication administration, and collaborating with the healthcare team. A minimum of two years of labor and delivery experience is required.

Responsibilities:

- Provide skilled nursing care to patients in the labor and post-partum units.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient care accurately and completely in the electronic medical record.
- Assist with deliveries and provide post-partum care to mothers and newborns.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide necessary interventions.
- Float between like units as needed.

Required Skills &

Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
- ACLS certification.
- AWHONN Intermediate certification.
- BLS certification.
- NRP certification.

Preferred Skills &

Certifications:

- AWHONN Advanced certification.

Special Considerations:

- The facility is able to call off once per two week pay period.
- Traveler may need to float between like units.

Scheduling:
- 36 hours per week.
- 4x12 hour shifts may be accommodated upon request.
- Orientation is 36 hours.
- Ratios are 1:3.
