Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR RN) to join a dynamic surgical team in Santa Rosa
. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of surgical specialties across inpatient and outpatient settings, including pre-op, intra-op, and recovery phases.

Inpatient & Ambulatory/Outpatient Surgery - Certifications
Required:
BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Pre-Op, Intra-Op & Post-Op (Phase I PACU & Phase II Recovery)
- Ambulatory Surgery & Inpatient OR
- Pre/Post Procedure Care
- General Surgery (including laparoscopic/endoscopic procedures)
- ENT (ex: tonsillectomy)
- Gastrointestinal (ex: cholecystectomy)
- Genitourinary (ex: TURP)
- Gynecology (ex: mastectomy)
- Ophthalmology (ex: cataract extraction/implant)
- Orthopedics, Plastics, Podiatry, Urology, Vascular
- Perform pre-op assessments and patient education
- Review history & physical, administer pre-op medications
- Provide discharge instructions and follow-up calls
- Perform medication reconciliation and EKGs as needed
- Assist in a variety of surgical procedures across specialties
- Monitor patients during procedural sedation and anesthesia
- Support anesthesia types including general, local, MAC, and nerve blocks
- Ensure adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols
- Manage endocrine conditions (hyper/hypoglycemia, insulin protocols)
- Administer and monitor narcotics/opioids and reversal agents
- Recognize and respond to malignant hyperthermia
- Apply pain management strategies and sedation scales (RASS)
- Interpret lab values and communicate critical findings
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care
- Experienced OR RN with strong perioperative skills
- Comfortable working across multiple surgical specialties
- Skilled in pre-op, intra-op, and PACU/recovery phases
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Patient-focused with a commitment to safety and quality care
