Job Summary
The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides skilled nursing care, case management, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality perioperative patient care. This role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and ensuring patient safety throughout surgical procedures. The nurse must demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, with at least one year of relevant experience and an active California RN license.
Responsibilities- Perform preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care for surgical patients.
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs during procedures.
- Administer medications and ensure proper treatment planning in coordination with the surgical team.
- Maintain sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
- Assist with patient education and preparation for surgery and recovery.
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (pending licenses accepted).
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in acute care or operating room settings.
- Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary team collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Experience specifically in Operating Room or surgical nursing.
- Knowledge of scrub color protocols and infection control standards.
- Additional certifications related to perioperative nursing.
- Work primarily 8:30 AM shifts with some variable shift requirements.
- No Return to Origin restrictions exceeding 7 days.
- Compliance with acute care facility policies and procedures.
- First-time traveler status accepted.
- Primarily day shifts starting at 8:30 AM.
- Some variable shifts may be required.
- Weekend requirements as per facility needs.
