Registered Nurse - PACU and Pre/Post Operative
This is a 13-week contract position.
Day shift, 5 days a week; shifts typically range from 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM with some variation in start times from 06:00 AM to 08:30 AM.
We are seeking a flexible and experienced Registered Nurse for our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Pre/Post Operative areas. The nurse will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients undergoing outpatient surgeries, including but not limited to orthopedic, urology, and general procedures. The role involves close monitoring of patients in recovery and education on post-operative care.
- Provide direct care to patients in the PACU and Pre/Post Operative settings.
- Perform assessments and monitor vital signs and recovery progress.
- Administer medications as per protocols and document in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Must hold a valid CA state RN license (pending licenses are accepted).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a PACU or Pre/Post Operative setting.
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
- Experience with EPIC charting system preferred.
