What You’llDoYou’ll practice a dynamic mix of:
Community Medicine
- Provide equity-focused accessible care that meets families where they are
- Support pet retention and keep animals with the people who love them
- Deliver common-sense,incremental care for a wide range of patients and conditions– from wellnessandpreventativecareto sick visits,chronic disease management, and palliative end-of-life care
Surgery
- Perform high-volume, High-quality spay/neuter
- Provide electivesurgeryand safety-net emergency surgery
- Oversee and perform sedated procedures and dentistry
Shelter Medicine
- Apply population healthandflow-through decision-making
- Rotate throughdailymedicalrounds and treatments,collaborating across departments andwith partner shelters
You’llwork alongside a deeply skilled team of DVMs, RVTs, and animal care professionals who practice at the top of their license and training.
You will help launchtheexpansion of ourpublic servicestowarda 7-day-a-weekproceduresand medical clinic, integrating clinical excellence with access, compassion, and smart resource use.

You’llpartner with innovative programs throughout Sonoma County and the Bay Area, helping shape what modern shelter medicine willbe.

- DVM/VMD + California veterinary license
- Proficient surgical skills with HVHQSN training
- At least 1yearexperience in shelter and/or community medicine
- Strong communicator who understands systems
- Curiosity, adaptability, and shared-leadership mindset
- Spanish language skills appreciated (not required)
- $130,000–$150,000 DOE annually for full-time (40 hours/week)
- We are open to flexible or part-time schedules, with salary prorated based on weekly hours and scope of responsibility
- Vacation+Sick Leave + 11 holidays
- CE stipend + CE days
