About our Retail Team

We serve and impact the local community by providing a positive shopping experience at our Seaside Thrift Store, supporting the Adult Rehabilitation Program. This role enhances customer service, problem‑solving, teamwork, and contributes to our Program’s success.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous retail management/supervisory experience.
  • Ability to operate POS/Cash Register and schedule & supervise store employees.
  • Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.
  • Background check (Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry).
  • Effective communication skills with management, staff, customers, and donors.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as file drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
  • Ability to operate a telephone.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Store Manager in day‑to‑day store operations.
  • Assume responsibility for all day‑to‑day operations in the manager’s absence.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development to store employees.
  • Maintain good customer/donor/community relations; resolve complaints promptly.
  • Coordinate daily morning and shift‑change team meetings when the manager is absent.
  • Supervise employees’ performance to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
  • Train new personnel on store policies and procedures.
  • Communicate personnel issues with the District Sales Manager and issue disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by the Store Manager, District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors, and Command Administration.
  • Process paperwork per Review Standards, especially Time and Attendance compliance.
  • Ensure the store meets ARC Merchandising Standards and inventory levels; maintain regular and accurate Rag‑out of the sales floor.
  • When absent, ensure Material Handlers work efficiently to meet daily processing goals.
  • Ensure Sales Associate/Material Handlers on donation sites work efficiently per donation procedures.
  • Maintain adequate cash in registers and safe; safeguard cash and bank receipts per ARCC policy.
  • Attend monthly and weekly store meetings.
  • Assist the Store Manager in safety measures and hazard reporting.
  • Protect property and building.
  • May transfer between stores at the direction of Command Retail Directors and Administration.
  • Implement loss‑prevention measures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Education

    High School or Equivalent.

    Experience

    Minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience in the retail environment.

    Licenses & Certifications

    Driver’s License.
