Store Merchandiser

PITCO Foods is a large independent food service distributor in Northern California. Based in San Jose, CA, PITCO also has distribution centers in Brisbane, San Leandro, and Sacramento.

A Store Merchandiser is responsible for managing the store's inventory, creating visually appealing product displays, and analyzing sales data to improve store profitability. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that products are available, well-presented, and priced correctly to drive sales and meet customer demand.

• Stocking Shelves:
  Ensure store shelves are stocked with the right products in appropriate quantities, maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Displaying Products:
  Arrange products in a visually engaging and strategic way to maximize customer interest and encourage purchases.
• Monitoring Inventory:
  Track inventory levels, identify low-stock items, and report shortages to management to prevent stockouts.
• Analyzing Sales Data:
  Review and analyze sales data to determine product performance, optimize product placement, and adjust promotions accordingly.
• Planning Product Ranges:
  Collaborate with buyers and other merchandisers to plan product ranges that align with customer preferences and seasonal trends.
• Managing Budgets:
  Oversee and manage budgets for product ranges, ensuring that merchandising activities are cost-effective and aligned with business objectives.
• Product Rotation: process of moving inventory to ensure that products with shorter shelf lives are sold before newer products.

• Merchandise Displayer:
  Designs and arranges visually impactful product displays to attract customers.
• Merchandising Specialist:
  Focuses on creating and implementing merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and sales.
• Merchandising Team Lead:
  Leads a team of merchandisers, guiding them in executing merchandising plans and maintaining store presentation excellence.

• Previous experience in merchandising, retail, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and merchandising software/tools.
• Knowledge of current retail trends and customer preferences.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred.
• Proven work experience as a Merchandiser or relevant position (2 years - Required).
• Integrity and professionalism.
• Bi-lingual a plus but not required
• Must pass Drug Test and Background Check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
