Job Summary

Environmental Staff Scientist – A mid‑level professional role supporting environmental assessments, regulatory compliance, site investigations, and sustainable project development across diverse industries. This position is part of our contamination assessment and remediation (CAR) business group and is based in Irvine, Long Beach, Sacramento, Roseville, Concord, or Santa Rosa, CA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats, working independently.
  • Personal Capability Building:
    Participate in assessment and development planning, training, coaching, and professional accreditation to enhance performance.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment:
    Follow HSE policies, identify and mitigate environmental risks, and report serious issues.
  • Client & Customer Management:
    Manage relationships with small clients and support senior colleagues with larger key clients.
  • Sampling and Testing:
    Collect samples for laboratory testing and conduct testing per statutory frameworks and best practice.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment:
    Perform assessments to ensure comprehensive evaluation of environmental impacts.
  • Solutions Analysis:
    Interpret data and identify possible answers, navigating processes, procedures, and precedents.
  • Insights and Reporting:
    Prepare various data and analytics reports.
  • Bid Solicitation/Request for Proposal/Tender Preparation:
    Draft and complete standard RFP and RFT documents.
  • Community of Practice Management:
    Participate in a community of practice to build expertise.
  • Environmental

    Risk Management:

    Coordinate identification, assessment, and mitigation of environmental risks.
Required Education
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Geology, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or equivalent.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience post‑graduation, including field sampling work.
  • Field work required.
  • Ability to travel overnight.
Work Arrangement

Hybrid model:
In‑office collaboration three days a week with flexibility.

Compensation

Salary Range $67,500‑$116,000 based on experience and location.
