ExperienceNeeded
- Has the ability to work independently and resourcefully within a small company environment.
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a helper in the construction industry or equivalent knowledge.
- Must have a valid Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Has the ability to communicate and follow instructions well.
- Has the ability to operate a variety of hand tools and equipment used by Pump Man Nor Cal.
- Has the ability to read and interpret basic drawings and instructions.
- Has the ability to be flexible in job duties and be willing to help out with tasks not specifically outlined in a job description.
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to occasionally climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting, carrying, and/or moving items up to 80 pounds.
- Must have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be exposed to outside weather conditions including heat, cold, and wet environments.
- May be exposed to unpleasant odors, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels.
- Load and unload materials and equipment as instructed.
- Perform a variety of tasks on the job site to assist Pump Mechanic in completing projects.
- Perform tests from start to finish with supervision and/or instruction.
- Pull water samples for quality testing (both in‑house and lab) with supervision and/or instruction.
- Operate hand tools safely and effectively.
- Operate large equipment under close supervision of the Pump Mechanic in charge.
- Operate a rig under close supervision of the Pump Mechanic in charge.
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry with supervision and/or instruction.
- Perform rig, vehicle, and equipment maintenance as instructed with supervision.
- Pickup parts from vendors.
- Take out trash in the shop and office, and take trash dumpsters out.
- Put together stock order lists upon request.
- Keep the shop clean, swept, and tidy.
- Complete specific tasks within allotted time per instructions/directions provided.
- Complete paperwork, including but not limited to timecards and job cards, in a neat and timely manner.
- Loading and unloading for projects as instructed.
- Assisting Pump Mechanic as instructed to both prepare for and complete projects.
- Complete paperwork.
- Stock rig and vehicle.
