Position SummaryWe are currently seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter to oversee and perform a wide range of construction tasks on public works and commercial projects. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded tradesperson with strong leadership skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities- Perform and lead work in the following trades:
- Carpentry and framing
- Finish carpentry and cabinetry installation
- Tile installation
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
- Ensure work is completed in compliance with local, state, and federal codes
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
- Adhere to all company safety policies and public works requirements
- Layout
- Material take off for projects
- Maintaining budgets
- Minimum 15 years of experience as a carpenter, with lead experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in multiple trades (plumbing, electrical, tile, framing, cabinetry)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards
- Ability to pass a background check if required for public works projects
- Clean driving record (required to occupy company truck)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (I-9 compliant)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification (OSHA 30 preferred)
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Ability to comply with prevailing wage and public works requirements
