Overview
Microchip's Frequency and Timing Systems (FTS) Business Unit provides the technology that sets the world standard for time. We provide equipment and services enabled by time. We distribute precise frequency and time for telecom, wireless, military, scientific and enterprise systems.
The position offers the opportunity for a new college graduate to join our Santa Rosa, CA engineering team to develop software for our precise frequency and timing system.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop, debug and test embedded software for the precise frequency and timing systems.
Participate and contribute to the software module design for efficiency and reusability.
Learn and develop understanding in the precise frequency and timing concepts.
Develop skills in general communication network and frequency and timing communication protocols.
Work with project teams of project managers, software engineers and hardware engineers to successfully finish product development.
Work with system testing teams to analyze, identify and fix software defects.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
0 - 2.5 years of relevant experience
Successful course work in core electrical engineering, computer science classes.
Working knowledge of compiled programming languages like C, C++.
Good understanding of data structures and encapsulated software design.
Understanding of the basic data analysis principles.
Fundamental analytical, writing, and oral communication skills.
General understanding of product development process and design control.
Understanding of computer networks and TCP/IP communication protocols.
Effective organizational skills.
Must be US citizen or permanent resident.

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,304 - $143,000.*
* Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
