Position Overview

The Operator / Production Assistant supports daily plant operations by safely operating equipment, assisting in production processes, and ensuring materials are handled efficiently and in compliance with company quality and safety standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining continuous production flow in a fast‑paced aggregates, asphalt, ready‑mix, or cement environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate fixed and mobile equipment (e.g., loaders, conveyors, crushers, mixers, batch plants) safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with production processes, including material handling, batching, and loading/unloading of products.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and MSHA/OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards for a clean and safe work environment.
  • Monitor production output and report issues affecting quality, efficiency, or safety.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with minor repairs, lubrication, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Record and communicate production data, equipment status, and operational issues to supervisors.
  • Support plant start‑up and shutdown procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and customer demands.

Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred); prior experience in construction materials, manufacturing, or heavy industry is a plus.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (loader, skid steer, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safety‑focused environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment.
