ResponsibilitiesClass A CDL Driver – Side Dump (Full-Time / Local)
We are looking for a skilled, independent Class A CDL Side Dump Driver who doesn’t just sit in the cab. If you are a proactive driver who thrives in dynamic job-site environments, knows how to handle a truck and trailer in tight spots, and can problem-solve on the fly, we want you on our team.
This is a hands‑on role where your sharp eye for safety, mechanical intuition, and adaptability are just as important as your driving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Safe Operation:
Safely transport and side‑dump materials (dirt, aggregate, rock, construction debris) across various active construction and excavation sites. - On‑the‑Fly Problem Solving:
Assess job site conditions, navigate tight or uneven terrain, and coordinate directly with site foremen to ensure precise, safe dumping without delaying operations. - Hands‑On Attitude:
Take charge of your equipment. Be ready to get out of the cab to secure loads, clear gates, check ground stability, and handle minor field adjustments or troubleshooting. - Strict DOT Compliance:
Execute thorough Pre‑Trip and Post‑Trip inspections daily. Accurately maintain logbooks, fuel receipts, and manifest paperwork, ensuring zero compromises on DOT standards. - Load & Equipment Care:
Monitor weight limits to ensure compliance with legal road limits and keep the truck and side‑dump trailer clean and well‑maintained.
Job Requirements
- License & Endorsements:
Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record (MVR). Must be qualified to drive a manual transmission (No "E" / Automatic restriction on your license). - Experience:
Minimum 1–2 years of commercial driving experience, preferably with side dumps, end dumps, or heavy belly dump equipment. - DOT Standards:
Must hold a current Medical Card and have the ability to pass all DOT‑required pre‑employment and random drug/alcohol screenings. - Field Expertise:
Strong spatial awareness and confidence backing and maneuvering heavy combinations on rough, unpaved terrain. - Reliability: A self‑starter mentality with sharp attention to detail and a commitment to showing up on time every day.
Competitive Pay: [Insert Hourly Rate/Range] (Dependent on experience)
Home Daily:
Local hauling with consistent daytime hours.
Benefits:
Paid holidays and 1 week of paid vacation after completing 1 full year of employment.
