Position Summary:
With minimal supervision, responsible for purchasing and vendor negotiations. Evaluates quotes and services, and historic performance data to ensure best quality and value.
Location:
Santee, CA
• Pay: $85,000 - $95,000

Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Direct Hire.
Must be able to pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screen.
Key Responsibilities- Manages inventory of raw materials by utilizing the min/max reports weekly, updating as necessary to ensure proper inventory levels.
- Processes blanket purchase orders to ensure inventory levels for floor stock, etc.
- Works with planning to forecast demand using multiple metrics (finished goods, forecasts, usage history) to determine appropriate raw material inventory levels.
- Assists planning by ordering raw materials needed to fulfill customer orders by creating purchase requisitions, requesting pricing, obtaining approval signatures, and placing purchase orders.
- Monitors and evaluates supplier performance along with Quality to determine and implement corrective actions to resolve impending supplier failure that may delay production or delivery.
- Maintains accurate lead times, issuing POs that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions as negotiated with suppliers.
- Negotiates and settles damage claims, rejections, losses, returns of materials, over‑shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes with suppliers.
- Minimum 5+ years purchasing experience.
- AA degree or some college preferred.
- Experience in medical / diagnostic / biotechnology production setting strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, objectives, and safety standards.
- Self‑starter able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced, changing environment and work well as part of a team.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, most critically Excel.
- Knowledge of FDA Quality System Requirements, cGMP, and ISO Standards.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization.
