Human Resources Manager

Bestop Aluminess LLC is hiring an on-site Human Resources Manager for the Aluminess and MGP brands at its Santee, CA facility. In this role, you will serve as the primary HR lead for the site, owning people programs and policies that support manufacturing operations, from payroll and benefits to hiring, employee relations, performance appraisal, and EHS compliance.

This position is an onsite, full-time HR leadership role working with production, management, and administrative teams within a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. The Human Resources Manager will also act as the main HR advisor to the General Manager and management team on people matters.

• Lead HR strategy for Aluminess and MGP, aligning programs with overall business goals.
• Own HR program and policy support across the Santee, CA site, including payroll/benefits, recruitment, employee relations, performance appraisal, and EHS compliance.
• Serve as the primary HR advisor to the General Manager and management team on people matters.

• Manage end-to-end ADP payroll processing
  , ensuring accurate and timely pay in compliance with federal, state, and California-specific regulations.
• Administer workers' compensation insurance and employee benefits programs.
• Own the full recruitment and selection process for open roles at both brands, from requisition through offer.
• Drive employee development, engagement, motivation, and retention across the site.
• Lead team-building activities, company events, and other employee relations initiatives.
• Maintain strict confidentiality across personnel files, HR discussions, payroll, and investigations.
• Own the performance appraisal system and drive high performance across the team.
• Ensure legal compliance throughout all human resource management practices.
• Lead EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) compliance initiatives, including safety programs, environmental reporting, and employee training.

• 5+ years of Human Resources experience, ideally as the primary HR contact for a site or business unit.
• 2+ years of hands-on payroll administration experience, including ADP

• Proven HR experience in a manufacturing or distribution
  , fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of California labor law
  , FMLA
  , and California-specific pay practices.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations

• Proficiency with HRIS systems such as Net Suite and ADP Workforce Now
  .
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Currently located in or able to reliably commute to Santee, CA
  .
• Authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without employer sponsorship.

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resource Management.
• SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).
• Prior experience as a standalone HR Manager at a manufacturing site.
• Experience leading EHS programs specifically, beyond general safety compliance.
