CNC Lathe and Mill Machinist

qcmi currently has an immediate need for qualified cnc lathe and mill machinists. Qualified individuals must have a strong technical background along with the desire to succeed personally as well as professionally by expanding their ability and knowledge at qcmi.

• previous experience as a cnc machinist in a machine shop.
• proficient at setting up and working unsupervised.
• comfortable with fanuc, okuma, haas, and other controls.
• knowledge of various types of metals including castings & forgings.
• understands speeds/feeds used when cutting different materials including exotic alloys.
• knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
• understands geometric tolerance and is proficient at reading & understanding blueprints.
• comfortable/competent in making program changes at the machining centers.
• familiar with six sigma methodologies and principles is a plus.
• has a general understanding of iso
  9001/as9100 quality systems.
• has their own tools.
• excellent communication skills and ability to work with engineering, quality, and manufacturing departments to ensure qcmi meets customer deadlines and quality requirements.
• minimum 3 years experience and meets the above requirements.
• dependability, strong work ethics, being a team player and willingness to work overtime when requested.

• machine setups for production runs
• shop math skills
• blueprint reading

• cnc mill (3-4 axis vmc)
• cnc lathe (2-4 axis)
• cnc mill (5+ axis vmc)
