Lead the mission: build precision parts that aerospace depends on Picture this: A critical aerospace assembly is waiting on your team’s components. One machine is trending out of tolerance; a programmer flags a toolpath opportunity;
Supply Chain is staging material for the afternoon run. You step in—coach the machinist, coordinate with Engineering on an updated strategy, confirm quality checkpoints to AS9100 and FAA controls, and adjust the plan to protect schedule and cost. That’s the impact of the Precision Milling Shop Lead.

Your impact

Elevate people: mentor machinists, CNC programmers, and technicians; set clear expectations; reward continuous improvement.

Deliver the plan: manage day-to-day milling operations to meet production schedules, cost targets, and aerospace-level quality.

Protect quality: embed AS9100/FAA compliance and internal procedures to ensure every component meets specification.

Improve the system: run Lean/5S initiatives, remove waste, and solve challenging multi-axis machining problems.

Increase uptime: monitor equipment performance, own the preventative maintenance cadence, and champion upgrades.

Collaborate to win: partner with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain on NPI, capability analysis, and fast NCR/MRB closure.

Make it visible: track and report production metrics, maintain precise shop documentation, and oversee inventory/materials flow.

What you’ll need to succeed
10+ years of CNC machining; aerospace strongly preferred.
2+ years of supervisory experience in a machining environment.

Deep know-how in CNC milling and multi-axis equipment, plus aerospace-grade materials and tooling.

Strong command of blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision machining standards.

Proven experience with AS9100 quality systems and FAA regulatory expectations.

Resourceful problem-solver with solid troubleshooting and conflict-resolution skills.

Clear, organized communicator who keeps teams aligned.

Preferred experiences

Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma.

ERP/MRP systems and production reporting tools.

Hands-on leadership with strong mechanical aptitude.
