Join The Salvation Army’s Retail Team at the Santee Thrift Store. This role supports the Adult Rehabilitation Program while promoting a positive shopping and donor experience, customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork to contribute to the program and its participants.

Donation Attendant — you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Maintaining and cleaning up the area around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift
• Assisting donors in receipt of donated items and providing receipts
• Maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by the Supervisor
• Separating and sorting donated material into proper containers and stacking as instructed by the Supervisor
• Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary
• Informing the supervisor of items needed before running out (e.g., brooms, receipts, totes, carts)
• Securing and locking the Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift

• High School diploma/GED required
• Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on a regular basis
• Ability to grasp and move objects such as files, carts, merchandise racks, and fixtures
• Ability to move product up to 75 lbs
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by management and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Full-time associates may be scheduled to work any full-time shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
