Join The Salvation Army’s Retail Team at the Santee Thrift Store. This role supports the Adult Rehabilitation Program while promoting a positive shopping and donor experience, customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork to contribute to the program and its participants.

Donation Attendant — you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Maintaining and cleaning up the area around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift
- Assisting donors in receipt of donated items and providing receipts
- Maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by the Supervisor
- Separating and sorting donated material into proper containers and stacking as instructed by the Supervisor
- Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary
- Informing the supervisor of items needed before running out (e.g., brooms, receipts, totes, carts)
- Securing and locking the Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift
- High School diploma/GED required
- Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
- Ability to read and write and to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on a regular basis
- Ability to grasp and move objects such as files, carts, merchandise racks, and fixtures
- Ability to move product up to 75 lbs
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by management and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Full-time associates may be scheduled to work any full-time shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
