Job DescriptionDefinition
Under the direction of the site administrator, supervise campus activities to assure the safety and security of students, staff and visitors in non‑classroom activities; enforce and assure student compliance with school and District rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Duties- Continuously patrol and supervise assigned campus areas, ensuring students remain safe, orderly, secure and within supervised areas.
- Monitor eating areas, walkways, restrooms, indoors, and grounds; assure safety and security of students and staff.
- Maintain a clean eating area for students by removing debris, crumbs, spills and managing trays or recycled items as needed.
- Enforce and assure student compliance with school and District rules, regulations, zero tolerance policies and procedures; respond to complaints, investigate, deter and report unusual or suspicious activities and prevent or break up student conflicts and fights.
- Monitor student behavior during lunchtime and/or breakfast; ensure students arrive to class on time.
- Confere with students, administrators, faculty, staff and others about student behavior and incidents; interview involved parties and report incidents to appropriate staff, faculty or administrators.
- Direct authorized visitors to desired destinations, provide general information and assistance, and escort students when required.
- Detain students pending administrator arrival and assist law enforcement agencies with legal matters involving students.
- Provide general information, assistance and guidance to students; respond to inquiries and concerns.
- Report safety and sanitary hazards to appropriate personnel; respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Refer students to the health office for injury or illness.
- Maintain routine incident records.
- Manage play equipment for student use by checking out equipment, setting it up, and repairing broken or damaged items.
- Lock and unlock doors and gates as appropriate.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Basic methods of individual and group supervision.
- Basic methods for managing and motivating students.
- Basic interests, attitudes, behaviors and emotional development of adolescents.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Health and safety regulations.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
- Basic record‑keeping techniques.
- Patrol and supervise campus activities to assure safety and security.
- Assure student compliance with school and District rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

- Learn, interpret, apply and explain rules, policies and regulations.
- Prevent or break up student conflicts and fights.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Maintain routine records related to assigned activities.
- Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Observe health and safety regulations.
Complete the twelfth grade; a work history indicating reliability and familiarity with school‑age students; or any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
Working ConditionsOutdoor and playground environment; may be exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures; exposure to loud noises. Work hours may shift due to modified days, heat days, or rainy days to meet varying lunch schedules.

- Regularly required to stand for long periods; walk; talk and hear.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; and crouch.
- Regularly lift, push, pull bulky items or objects.
- Must be able to see to perform assigned duties.
- A pre‑placement physical examination and clearance are prerequisites for employment.
Part‑Time. 9‑month/2.5‑hour schedule: 11:00 am–1:30 pm. Salary classification 18.5. Salary: $17.65 per hour.
