- Clerical Job Purpose

Treatment Planning Coordinators are responsible for verifying patient insurance benefits, communicating with patients about treatment cost, generating and presenting financial arrangements to patients, processing payments, and maintaining a productive and efficient schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present clear and reliable treatment plans for patients, including presenting financial options to patients and documenting the final financial arrangement
  • Secure appropriate documentation from patients and store in applicable software(s)
  • Build strong relationships with patients and support activities that grow the practice
  • Reconcile invoices, identify discrepancies, and check reports for accuracy
  • Document clear and reliable billing activity in internal databases and reporting software(s)
  • Receive and sort incoming payments with attention to accuracy and timeline
  • Manage the status of accounts and balances; strong ability to identify inconsistencies
  • Processing and posting patient payments
  • Issue invoices and receipts to patients
  • Update the accounts receivable database with new accounts or missed payments
  • Coordinate with Central Billing and Medical Billing teams to ensure proper billing and collections
  • Maintaining a professional reception area
  • Monitoring and replying to emails and voicemails
  • Checking daily appointment schedules and filling gaps to ensure positive production
  • Preparing end-of-day reports and deposits
  • Maintaining OSHA and HIPAA Compliance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
Experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required; prior dental experience preferred
Working conditions

Dental practices run at a fast pace and treatment coordinators will be required to keep up with the flow of doctors and patients.

  • Look at a computer screen for extended periods
  • Stand for long periods.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
