Overview
Gas Tech Engineering LLC is seeking a Night Shift Supervisor to lead and elevate performance on our night shift manufacturing team. This is a critical leadership role responsible for maintaining continuity between day and night operations, driving production excellence, and ensuring compliance with ASME/ANSI Pressure Vessel Codes.

Position OverviewThe Night Shift Supervisor oversees all night shift plant operations while executing the production plan established by daytime leadership. This position partners closely with Manufacturing Managers to drive improvement initiatives, enhance throughput, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure the highest level of technical and manufacturing excellence on the night shift.
This role ensures that all fabrication performed on pressure-containing equipment aligns with ASME/ANSI codes, Gas Tech Quality Requirements, engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and the manufacturing plan.

- Support Manufacturing Managers in planning and developing the night shift workforce.
- Execute all directives received from Manufacturing Managers with accuracy and follow-through.
- Provide detailed end-of-shift progress reports including project status, employee performance, and quality updates.
- Maximize throughput through efficient job staging, tooling readiness, and equipment utilization.
- Verify proper procurement, labeling, and storage of consumables.
- Ensure welders are properly qualified to Gas Tech WPS and are welding “in-procedure” as required.
- Implement and maintain training programs for new employees and new process improvements.
- Pursue cost reduction opportunities related to consumables, overtime, and production efficiencies.
- Enforce Health & Safety requirements and foster a safe, clean, and well-organized work environment.
- Prepare and optimize job flow through the department.
- Identify maintenance needs and ensure completion of Total Productive Maintenance plans.
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and consistently with employees and leadership.
- Enforce company policies, including completing documentation when violations occur.
- Teach and lead closed-loop corrective action processes to eliminate repeat quality issues.
Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Strong leadership abilities and technical knowledge in the fitting and welding of pressure vessels and equipment are required.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in welding and fabrication, 5 of which is in a Code welding facility is required.
- An ability to read and understand all engineering documentation is required.
- Experience in reading and interpreting NDE results is also preferred but not required.
- A demonstrable knowledge in all ASME and ANSI Code is required.
- The ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality is required.
- Knowledge in all oxy-fuel, plasma cutting, and arc-gouging operations is preferred but not required.
- A CWI certificate is preferred but not required.
- The ability to remain organized with a keen attention to detail in a fast-paced environment is required.
- The ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines utilizing excellent time management skills is required.
- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are required.
- Higher vocational welding background is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, is required.
- Ability to accurately prepare and communicate shift reports in written or typed form. Requires the ability to log into computer systems, navigate electronic files, retrieve drawings, and print documents as needed, is required.
- Experience in an ISO 9001 environment is preferred but not required.
