We are seeking a dependable and team-oriented Material Handler to support daily operations in a fabrication environment. The Material Handler will work independently and as part of a team to meet company productivity, quality, and scheduling standards.
This Material Handler position is classified as Safety Sensitive due to working around overhead cranes, forklifts, trucks, and automated equipment.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Material Handler role includes:
- Load and unload materials and merchandise from trucks
- Properly pack materials before shipment
- Locate and stage raw materials and finished products
- Follow material movement instructions and work orders
- Operate forklifts, industrial trucks, electric hoists, and overhead cranes
- Meet established productivity and quality standards
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Maintain 5S standards and a clean work environment
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work safely in a fabrication shop environment
- Must pass a forklift training class
- Ability to read and write basic shop communications
- Ability to use a tape measure accurately
- Basic fabrication shop experience preferred
- Strong teamwork mindset and professional attitude
- Ability to consistently meet productivity requirements
- Exposure to heavy equipment, cranes, forklifts, and power tools
- Fast-paced industrial setting
- Safety-sensitive position
