Instrumentation and Controls Technician

Overview

Gas Tech Engineering LLC is seeking a skilled Instrument & Electrical Technician to join our Manufacturing Department. This role is critical in ensuring the proper control and operation of process equipment by translating engineering documentation into high-quality electrical assemblies. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to excellence in electrical and instrumentation work.

• Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wire diagrams, P&IDs, and general arrangement drawings
• Perform point-to-point wiring of power and control systems
• Install instruments, actuators, controllers, and control panels
• Run conduit, wire trays, and supports
• Terminate twisted pair and multi-conductor wiring, including potted and Okonite cables
• Conduct electrical, panel, control, and communication checks
• Route and install pneumatic control tubing
• Lead small teams and plan ahead for efficient task execution
• Maintain professional housekeeping and adhere to safety standards
• Ensure minimal wiring repairs and maintain punctual, reliable attendance

• High school diploma or GED required
• Proven proficiency in electrical and controls automation within process piping and pressure equipment manufacturing
• Must pass a qualified electrical test and demonstrate class-appropriate experience
• Vocational training in electrical/controls preferred
• Familiarity with NEC, UL/CSA Codes, and ISO 9001 environments preferred
• Strong knowledge of electrical parts, PLCs, relays, motor starters, VFDs, valve actuators, and communication interfaces
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to work with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
