Position: Technician, Low Voltage, Licensed (NICET II License Required)

Technician, Low Voltage, Licensed (NICET II License Required) – $5,000 SIGN ON BONUS

Saraland, AL

Position Summary

This role supports the operation of multiple departments by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low‑voltage systems such as security, fire alarm, CCTV, audio/video, and network cabling. The technician coordinates with project teams, ensures compliance with regulations, and provides technical support and training to end users.

Essential Functions
  • Sets up and configures various low‑voltage systems (e.g., security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling).
  • Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards.
  • Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability.
  • Identifies and resolves issues in low‑voltage systems promptly to minimize downtimes.
  • Fixes faults or damages in systems, restoring them to optimal working condition.
  • Provides technical support to end users.
  • Provides training and support to end users on how to operate and maintain low‑voltage systems.
  • Addresses customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensures all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follows all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Generates reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities.
  • Evaluates existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed.
  • Performs system upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards.
  • Works closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Stays abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Demonstrates up‑to‑date expertise and provides expert advice and guidance to others.
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions, building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Models compliance with company policies and supports company mission, values, and ethics.
Physical Activities
  • Reads information, often in small print.
  • Visually verifies information, often in small print.
  • Communicates effectively in person or using telecommunications equipment.
  • Creates documents and reports using a writing instrument or electronic device.
  • Enters and locates information on electronic devices.
Travel

Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work sites, including consecutive overnight stays as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must hold state and jurisdiction‑required certification and license for the state/jurisdiction of work.
  • Reciprocal license may apply.
  • Licensing requirements vary by state.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Prior work experience in a role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BICSI Installer Certification.
  • CompTIA certifications for networking (e.g., Network+).
  • Manufacturer‑specific certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems).
  • NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification.
  • OSHA 10 or 30‑hour certification/training.
  • Technical training or certification in low‑voltage systems.
