We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Sarasota, Florida. This role is ideal for an experienced individual who excels in corporate tax management, sales tax processes, and general ledger accounting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization's accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage sales tax reporting and ensure timely submissions.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Record and review journal entries for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure deadlines are met.
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with team members to support audits and ensure compliance with financial standards.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting practices to ensure proper application.
- Provide support for special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as needed.
