Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a manufacturing team in Sarasota, Florida on a Long-term Contract basis. This position supports daily accounting activities in a hands-on, onsite environment and is well suited for someone who enjoys managing core bookkeeping tasks with accuracy and consistency. The role offers the chance to contribute across accounts payable, payroll support, and general accounting functions while working closely with leadership.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the full vendor invoice entry process in Quick Books Desktop, ensuring records are complete and accurate.

- Verify invoices against purchase orders and receiving documents before submitting items for payment processing.

- Reconcile supporting paperwork for payables and maintain organized financial documentation for audit readiness.

- Prepare and review accounts payable reports to track outstanding obligations and upcoming disbursements.

- Support weekly payroll administration for a small employee population by entering hours and pay data into the accounting system.

- Communicate payroll details with the appropriate internal or external payroll contacts to help ensure timely processing.

- Maintain bookkeeping records across daily accounting activities, including assistance with accounts receivable and bank reconciliations as needed.

- Partner with company leadership on routine accounting operations and provide additional administrative accounting support when priorities shift. Requirements - Prior experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounting support within a business environment.

- Practical proficiency with Quick Books, with strong preference for experience using Quick Books Desktop.

- Solid understanding of invoice processing, payment workflows, and basic accounting principles.

- Ability to compare and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and receiving records with a high level of accuracy.

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential financial and payroll information responsibly.

- Comfortable working independently in a small, collaborative onsite setting.

- Payroll exposure is helpful, and experience in manufacturing or with manufacturing systems is an advantage.
