Part-Time Preschool Teacher

First Presbyterian Preschool is seeking a qualified, energetic, and nurturing teacher to join our nationally accredited early childhood program. Responsibilities:

• Design and implement creative, engaging lesson plans rooted in developmentally appropriate practice
• Observe and support each child's social, emotional, and cognitive development
• Encourage cooperation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution among peers
• Foster artistic, practical, and critical thinking skills through hands-on activities
• Track developmental progress and communicate daily with families
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues and attend weekly/monthly planning meetings
• Complete a minimum of 25 hours of continuing education annually
• Ensure compliance with all licensing and health & safety standards

What We're Looking For:

• Completion of Florida DCF 45-hour mandated training
• 3-5 years of experience in a preschool or early childhood setting
• Strong communication and instructional skills
• Friendly, calm, and dependable personality with a practical mindset
• Ability to build strong relationships with children and families

Compensation &

Schedule:

This is a part-time position, ranging from 22 to 30 hours per week. Our pay structure includes two rates based on responsibilities:

• $18–$25/hour for core morning teaching hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (20 hours per week)
• $18/hour for additional responsibilities, including planning time, staff meetings, Lunch Bunch, enrichment programming, and preparing for conferences and Brightwheel messaging

About the Role:

This position is ideal for someone who has a deep love for children, patience, and a strong understanding of early childhood education best practices.
