ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities include performing and overseeing civil engineering work, focused on site design components including site layout, yard piping, roadways, paving and grading, and stormwater infrastructure. The role also involves performing and overseeing conceptual and preliminary design activities including site visits, fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation. Additionally, it includes completing and overseeing detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for site civil aspects of treatment facility and infrastructure projects.
The position also requires conducting and reviewing stormwater hydraulic calculations and/or modeling and incorporating them into the site civil design. Furthermore, it involves developing, reviewing, and coordinating permitting associated with site development for treatment facility and infrastructure projects. The role also entails assisting with coordinating and performing quality reviews of subconsultant work, preparing and reviewing technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables, and reviewing contractor submittals for conformance with contract drawings and specifications.
The position also includes providing, coordinating, and overseeing engineering services during construction and serving as the lead civil engineer for large multi-discipline projects and project manager on site/civil engineering projects.
The qualifications include a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering field, a minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience in civil/site development, stormwater, and permitting, registration as a professional engineer, ability to apply critical thinking to develop options and recommendations to solve technical problems, ability to develop and oversee working drawings for civil plans (site layout, piping, grading, drainage, and paving) from sketches, experience with the planning and design of facility layout and site design projects, experience with site development requirements and permitting;
experience with environmental resource permits, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage, oversee, and train junior civil engineering staff, proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, and working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
The preferred qualifications include a master's degree in civil engineering or related engineering field, experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop engineering drawings, and experience with GIS and/or stormwater hydrologic modeling software.
Compensation RangeAn employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
