Job Title
Performs a variety of complex clerical and technical customer service and Permitting duties, requiring knowledge of building permit processing, water/sewer capacity fees, and billing rates.
Job DescriptionReview and process permits and calculate the required water and/or sewer capacity and connection fees
Receive, comment, approve, and track permits on computer tracking system
Complete required forms, applications, and other documents as needed.
Collect and receipt required capacity/connection fees.
Answer customer/property owner/builder inquiries. Notify customer/builder of fees and other requirements.
Coordinate with other departments on permit status, information, and requirements.
Customer Service and Code Enforcement:
Calculate and quote water/sewer capacity and connection fees for proposed and existing developments and projects.
Process and complete utility capacity fees loan installment payment program applications, sets up loans, and maintains and processes loan pay-offs
Answer or refer water/sewer availability or water/sewer line location inquire.
Written confirmation of water/sewer availability and fees
Water and sewer capacity availability letters. Process customer refunds. Updates code enforcement actions and data (collection of utility capacity fees and approved utility connection and on-site septic and water well abandonments)
Processes fire hydrant meter rental applications
Assist customers in person, on phone, and by email contact
Quotes and processes early utility non-ad valorem assessments pay-offs.
Work Hours:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or its equivalent, and two years of experience in a utility's customer service environment or a permitting process/plans review environment.
A valid Florida Driver's License.
Satisfactory completion of Core Competencies or ability to obtain Core Competencies within 6 months of hire date
Pay$17.78 - $18.20
