Job Summary
The OB Procedure Scheduler – RN is responsible for coordinating and scheduling obstetric procedures, including inductions, external cephalic versions (ECVs), non-stress tests (NSTs), and other OB services. This registered nurse serves as the primary liaison between provider offices, patients, and the Labor & Delivery team to ensure procedures are medically appropriate, accurately scheduled, and coordinated with unit capacity and available resources.
Utilizing strong clinical judgment, the OB Procedure Scheduler reviews medical indications, prioritizes scheduling based on patient needs, resolves scheduling conflicts, provides patient instructions, and collaborates with physicians, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams to support safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
Delivery Room
Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.
Schedule- This full-time position is Monday through Friday with no weekends or holidays.
- Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
- Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
- Require Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire.
- Require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 120 days of hire.
- Require any OB/Neonatal Certifications obtained during employment will be maintained during the remainder of employment. These include but are not limited to:
Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification, Maternal-Newborn Nursing Certification, Low Risk Neonatal Certification, any Lactation Certification.
- Prefer certification in nursing specialty area.
