In this role, you'll help keep traffic flowing safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing traffic signals, streetlights, pedestrian crossing systems, radar speed signs, and other critical lighting infrastructure.

- Install, maintain, and repair: street lights, traffic signals, aerial traffic signal equipment, and remote traffic count equipment.
- Perform traffic signal controller cabinet maintenance and cleaning.
- Repair and replace vehicle detectors & pedestrian detectors.
- Install, maintain & test video equipment used to monitor traffic and detect vehicles.
- Perform and test traffic signal controllers.
- Install, maintain, repair, and operate all types of school flashers, pedestrian crossing apparatus, illuminated and non-illuminated aerial signs, and various types of electronic equipment.
- Test, services/repairs fiber optic and copper cable communication circuits.
- Set up work zone traffic control (MOT/TTC).
- 4:30 p.m.
* On-Call Required.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
:
- A High school diploma or its equivalent
- Two (2) years experience as an electrician or similar field
- A Valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire
- A "CDL" Class B license or the ability to obtain within six (6) months from the date of hire (Paid by the County!)
- Must be able to obtain an IMSA Signal Level I certification within one (1) year of hire AND IMSA Signal Level II within three (3) years of hire
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay: $24.19/hour (Step
4), Potential higher pay (steps) for those with multiple years of experience
