- Perform stormwater conveyance system maintenance on all county canals, lakes, ponds, and ditches
- Restore road right-of-ways and properties relating to stormwater maintenance and repairs
- Install and repair pipeline infrastructure and plumbing to ensure proper grade of the conveyance system
- Respond to emergency situations as required
- Lead staff in operations to ensure safety
- Carpenter work to include design, frame or form needed to install and build new infrastructure
- Design, form, and pour concrete for structures, high back curb, Miami curb, etc.
- Understanding and experience practicing standard FDOT stormwater installation specifications
- Operate specialized equipment, such as backhoes, excavators, arm mowers, vacuum trucks and other related equipment
Work Hours:
- Monday - Friday
- 6:30 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m. - 40-hour work week, rotating schedule
- On-call required
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Three (3) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of stormwater conveyance systems
- A valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement required within six (6) months from the time of hire (Paid by the County!)
- A valid Florida Driver License at the time of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of current technology in storm water distribution systems and road right of way maintenance practices
- Knowledge of safe operation of specialized tools and equipment used in the maintenance storm water conveyance system and road right of way maintenance and repair
- Operation of harvesters, airboats, motorboats, excavators, arm mowers, personal computers and mechanical tools used in the utility maintenance industry
Physical Demands:
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Subject to Passing Substance Screening:
This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years
