Utility Crew Leader
Sarasota County Government is seeking a Utility Crew Leader for the Public Utilities department. This position is full-time and offers a salary of $17.78 hourly. The location is 1001 Sarasota Center Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34240.
This position involves participating in and assisting with the coordination of utility work for operations, maintenance, repair, installation, and construction of the potable and reclaimed water distribution, wastewater; gravity, vacuum, and pressurized sewer collection systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and overseeing daily work activities of 3 or more staff.
- Performing utility installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Conducting complete underground utility inspection/discovery.
- Operating specialized equipment for maintenance and repair.
- Responding to customer complaints and communicating about water and sewer utility systems.
- Maintaining equipment and vehicles as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, one year of experience in maintenance, construction, or grounds maintenance, and a valid Florida Driver's License. Preferred qualifications include specific certifications and one year of wastewater collection system cleaning and maintenance.
Physical demands include occasionally lifting and/or moving more than 50 pounds. This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.
Pay is $17.78 (Step
