Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs thermoforming equipment in a manufacturing environment, ensuring reliable and safe operation of all production machinery and support systems.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of thermoforming equipment within a manufacturing setting.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical components such as hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes, motors, pumps, and conveyors.
- Use PLCs to identify issues and make edits to existing programs as needed to support equipment performance, without developing new programs from scratch.
- Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and support continuous production.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and adjustments to ensure accurate equipment history and compliance with internal procedures.
- Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
- Follow safety procedures and best practices while working on equipment to maintain a safe work environment.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Proficiency in maintaining and repairing gear boxes, motors, pumps, and conveyors.
- PLC experience with the ability to make edits to existing programs (no new programming required).
- Solid understanding of electrical maintenance practices and safety procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting thermoforming equipment or similar industrial machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, such as schematics and equipment manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams.
You will work in a stable, climate-controlled manufacturing environment alongside a close-knit team of approximately 50 employees. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a team of about 50 employees. You will work around thermoforming equipment and related industrial machinery, including hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes, motors, pumps, conveyors, and PLC-controlled systems. The environment emphasizes safety and professionalism, with appropriate work attire and protective equipment used as needed around production equipment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sarasota, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $34.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
