Custom Air & Plumbing, a trusted Sarasota contractor, is seeking a Residential HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain home cooling and heating systems. In this field-based role, you'll troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive maintenance, install replacement components and provide honest recommendations to customers. You'll work directly in local homes, representing a customer-focused, family-oriented team that values integrity, professionalism and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain residential HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heat pumps and air handlers.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and system tune-ups to ensure efficient, reliable operation.
  • Install replacement equipment and components, following company and code standards.
  • Use diagnostic tools, gauges and meters to identify system issues and recommend solutions.
  • Communicate clearly with homeowners about findings, options, pricing and maintenance recommendations.
  • Document work performed, parts used and system condition in service tickets and reports.
  • Follow safety procedures, company policies and local codes on every job.
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours emergency service rotation as needed.
  • Collaborate with dispatch, office staff and field teams to ensure timely, professional service.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools and inventory in clean, organized condition.
