Bilingual Youth Care Specialist

Lutheran Services Florida is seeking a compassionate Bilingual Youth Care Specialist to support children and teens in our social services programs. In this role, you will provide direct care, supervision, and mentoring to youth, ensuring safety, emotional support, and positive development in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive setting. You will facilitate daily routines, group activities, and life-skills education, assist with intakes and documentation, and coordinate with clinicians, case managers, schools, and families.

You will model healthy boundaries, de-escalate crises, and advocate for each youth's well-being and long-term success.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and daily care for youth in residential or program settings
• Ensure a safe, structured, and supportive environment using trauma-informed practices
• Communicate effectively in English and another language to support youth and families
• Facilitate group activities, recreation, and life-skills education
• Assist with intakes, documentation, incident reports, and case notes
• Support behavior management, crisis de-escalation, and conflict resolution
• Coordinate with clinicians, case managers, schools, and community partners
• Monitor youth progress and report concerns to supervisory and clinical staff
• Assist with transportation, appointments, and program transitions
• Model professional boundaries, cultural sensitivity, and ethical conduct
