Financial Analyst, Accounting & Finance
This position is a critical foundation for the Colleges treasury, general accounting and financial reporting function. It requires a strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, treasury and gift functions, financial systems and internal controls, and the ability to prepare financial reconciliations, analysis and journal entries. The position also requires close attention to detail and the ability to work well independently as well as with other Financial Services staff, other departments on campus, and high risk / highly visible external stakeholders such as the Colleges independent external auditors, banks, investment managers, investment consultants, and others.
Education
: 4 year college degree (accounting, finance or related business degree)
Experience
: 5 years in accounting or finance role
This position requires:
- A high degree of integrity and reliability;
- Financial accounting skills and knowledge of not-for-profit accounting standards and practices with the ability to research and resolve issues;
- Expertise using financial information systems and processes;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- The ability to communicate sensitively and effectively both orally and in writing;
- Balance multiple priorities;
- Judgment is consistently required with the ability to read situations and react appropriately;
- High quality work and the finding the right balance between attention to detail and the big picture;
- Ability to meet all deadlines and work efficiently - prioritizing important tasks and delegating where appropriate; and
- Strong working relationships with team, peers, supervisor and other key members of the community across a wide range of departments.
