Location:
Saratoga Hospital, 211 Church Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 Salary Range: $37.00 - $60.00 2+ years of ICU experience required.# About the Role The ICCU is a 19-bed critical care unit located on the 2nd floor of the north building. The patients can be in various stages of recuperation from diagnostic therapies or surgical interventions. We see the highest volume of patients experiencing cardiovascular and pulmonary disease, as well as those recovering from high-risk surgeries.
Health care delivery is provided through relationships, with the activities of care organized around the needs and priorities of patients and their families. With the patient and family being the core, the demonstrated practices and values that integrate into the caring and healing environment of relationship-based care include leadership, teamwork, professional nursing, care delivery, resources, and outcomes. We believe that our care practices visibly demonstrate the mission and values of our organization, and extend to clinicians and staff members from other disciplines and services.
In addition, the ICCU registered nurses are a vital team member of the Rapid Response and Code Blue team by providing critical care nursing expertise to the bedside of a patient who is having an unforeseen deterioration. Incorporates appropriate assessment and intervention skills that are age-specific in all interactions and delivery of nursing care.# Assesses patients# physical/psycho-social status. Analyzes relevant data. Integrates assessment results in care planning, goals and outcomes. Provides for therapeutic interventions based on continued assessment, prescribed orders and input from other care providers. Provides for adequate pain management, manages IV therapy and administers medications according to critical elements.
Provides for patient/colleague/self-safety and protection. Communication:
Communicates with patients, colleagues, providers, and management in an accurate, considerate, and timely manner. Applies patient-specific communication skills in interactions that are culturally sensitive # appropriate to age. Language barriers and sensory # cognitive deficit are accommodated.
