CVS Health is seeking an Infusion Nurse to provide high-quality, compassionate infusion therapy in home and clinical settings. In this role, you will coordinate and administer IV medications, monitor patient responses, educate patients and caregivers, and collaborate with physicians and the broader care team to optimize outcomes. You'll document care accurately, follow safety and infection-control standards, and support care transitions. Responsibilities
- Initiate, administer, and monitor intravenous and injectable infusion therapies according to provider orders and clinical protocols
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history review, vital signs, and vascular access evaluation before, during, and after infusions
- Start and manage peripheral IV lines and provide care and troubleshooting for central venous catheters, PICC lines, and implanted ports
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and adverse reactions, intervening promptly and escalating care when necessary
- Educate patients and caregivers on medication regimens, side-effect management, vascular access care, infection prevention, and use of infusion pumps and supplies
- Coordinate care and communicate regularly with prescribing providers, pharmacists, and case managers to support individualized plans of care and safe transitions
- Document assessments, medication administration, patient responses, and teaching in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain compliance with infection control standards, safety protocols, and all state, federal, and organizational regulations governing infusion therapy
- Manage a daily schedule of home or clinic visits, ensuring that medications, equipment, and supplies are prepared, transported, and stored appropriately
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and ongoing professional development related to infusion nursing and specialty therapies

- Central line, PICC, and port care and troubleshooting
- Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
- Medication administration and dosage calculation
- Monitoring for and managing infusion reactions and complications
- Aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Patient and caregiver education and health coaching
- Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
- Care coordination and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Time management and independent work in the field
- Use of infusion pumps and related equipment
- Basic emergency response and escalation
- Understanding of pharmacology related to infused medications
