Special Education Para educator
Join our vibrant MSA community, where we are dedicated to fostering a holistic educational environment that nurtures the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development of our students. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Para educator to support our mission of providing individualized and inclusive education to students with special needs in grades kindergarten through 6th.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs, ensuring their academic and social-emotional success.
- Assist in the development and implementation of classroom activities that align with Waldorf education principles.
- Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and performance, maintaining accurate records and reporting to appropriate staff.
- Utilize positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to support student learning and development.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and cooperation among all students.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience as a Special Education Para educator.
- Experience working with children with special needs, preferably in an educational setting.
- Understanding and appreciation of Waldorf education principles and methodologies.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the growth and development of students with special needs.
- Ability to adapt and respond to the unique challenges and needs of each student.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with or knowledge of Waldorf education.
- Additional certifications or training in special education or related fields.
- Experience in implementing IEPs and BIPs.
