Student Assistant, Creative Collaborations, Collective Momentum Virtual Conference

This position will be funded by and is contingent on a successful
SSHRC Connection Grant
application, the results of which will be known by the end of March.

You will be contributing to the CRKN Virtual Conference () including assisting with the conference itself and producing a proceedings following the conference.

In the appointment of Student Assistant, your general duties and responsibilities will be:

  • developing, formatting, and updating webpages on the CRKN website ( with the program and pragmatic information
  • setting up and managing the registration processes
  • running a social media campaign
  • sharing pertinent pragmatic information via email and telephone as needed
  • working with AV colleagues to coordinate day-of technical logistics
  • presenting a talk for discussion during one of the presentation sessions if desired
  • troubleshooting and managing logistics and requests leading up to and during the event
  • setting up and launching the coordination of the open access proceedings after the event
  • Your location of work will be largely remote, with periodic meetings on campus in the Murray Library. You will report to Jason Friedman, Assistant Dean, Collections and Discovery.

    Skills and Abilities

    )
    You must be registered in a graduate program.
    Excellent communication skills in English.

    Experience with library/information studies, cultural heritage, and/or persistent identifiers is considered an asset.
    Proficiency in French is considered an asset.
    Familiarity with social media, Zoom, and Drupal are considered assets.
