Breakthrough T1D is adding our development team and we’re searching for an enthusiastic Community Walk Program Assistant to support our fundraising efforts.
Here’s what your primary responsibilities would be:- Coordinate mailings, phone outreach, stewardship, and data entry for the Breakthrough T1D Walks across Ontario.
- Manage event‑related communications before and after the event.
- Maintain accurate records and oversee database updates, including data entry and cleanup.
- Create and assist with social media content for fundraising events.
- Provide customer assistance and troubleshoot technical issues for online registrants.
- Be between ages 15 and 30 years at the start of employment
- Have a valid SIN
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protections has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- And legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation and regulations (international students on a work/study permit are not eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs Program).
- Post‑secondary education (in progress or completed) in Fundraising, Business Administration, Marketing/Communications, Public Relations, Volunteer Management or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Comfortable speaking with event participants on the phone
- Service‑oriented
- Strong written and oral communication skills to successfully interact with external stakeholders and staff within Breakthrough T1D
- Highly motivated self‑starter who can thrive with remote supervision
- Proven strong organizational skills and detail‑oriented
- Team‑oriented with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficient computer skills and previous experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and database (CRM) skills are an asset.
$17.60 per hour
Location PreferenceAnywhere within Canada OR Preferred in the GTA area to support in person events as needed.
