Program Officer Responsibilities
SIIT is hiring a Program Officer to join our team. The Program Officer is accountable for assisting coordination of training initiatives with First Nation communities and SIIT locations across Saskatchewan. The incumbent supports the Program Coordinator with coordination of programs from start to finish, including administration, recruitment of students, and completing program evaluations.
The Program Officer is the administrator of Saskatchewan Apprenticeship & Trade Certification MyATC Platform. This includes assisting all potential SIIT apprentices with the multi-step registration process and approval process within the MyATC Platform. This position will ensure smooth, coordinated and efficient operation, maintenance, and promotion of JTC programs, as well as support the Dean, Program Head and Coordinators in the data collection, reporting, and analysis of the department.
This position provides additional support as required and includes the following accountabilities:
Identifies, initiates, and supports the coordination of various apprenticeship training programs for the Institute and Bands/Tribal Councils as requested
Assist in the monitoring of various Apprenticeship training programs for Bands/Tribal Councils as requested
Assist in the operation and maintenance of the SIIT JTC database
Assist the JTC coordinator in managing both urban and rural-based apprentices in the JTC as per regulations set out by the SATCC
Required Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience, including demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems.
A Journeyperson Certification and/or post-secondary education in a relevant field.
