Job Description

The Relationship Manager is accountable for delivering a superior customer experience while driving profitable business growth, in line with business strategy. The role builds new relationships and deepens existing customer relationships for both credit and non-credit products/services, develops a shadow portfolio of target businesses, and works closely with internal and external subject matter experts or lending advisory groups.

CUSTOMER
  • Continuously deliver exceptional customer service at every interaction and execute plans to improve the customer experience.
  • Lead all aspects of relationship management for an assigned portfolio.
  • Act as a confident business banker, meeting customer needs with creative products and solutions.
  • Use sales platforms to understand customers’ target needs, industries, and markets.
  • Grasp customers’ operating environment and structure financing, cash management, and overall business needs to add value.
  • Maintain deep expert knowledge of the market, customers, and broader economic factors.
  • Develop and maintain centre of influence strategies and relationships.
  • Identify referral opportunities to internal Bank partners that meet customer needs.
  • Enhance the TDBG brand by participating in networking events.
SHAREHOLDER
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to attract, acquire, and retain customers and business development opportunities, increasing profitability while aligning with risk profile.
  • Build new relationships and deepen existing ones by following the Business Banking Relationship Methodology (BBRM).
  • Promote and offer the full suite of products, services, and banking capabilities.
  • Meet or exceed business targets.
  • Negotiate to maximize profitability of relationships within customers’ risk profile.
  • Contribute to credit applications with high-quality risk assessment, credit structure, due diligence, and presentation.
  • Oversee account management to ensure monitoring and adherence to guidelines and limits.
  • Understand market and industry within the portfolio to provide value-added service while mitigating risk.
  • Refer to other business partners inside Business Banking and across TDBG; respond to reciprocal referrals.
  • Protect the organization’s interests by managing risks and escalating non-standard, high-risk transactions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational risk requirements.
  • Assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk through compliance with the Bank and industry Code of Conduct.
  • Develop productive relationships with external partners to identify new business opportunities.
