Entrepreneurship Resource Specialist, Edwards School of Business
Summary:
The entrepreneurship resource specialist supports the work of the Slogotski Hunt Centre for Entrepreneurship (SHCE) by coordinating partnerships, events, communications, and engagement initiatives that advance entrepreneurship across the university and the province. Working closely with senior leadership, this position contributes to the planning and delivery of entrepreneurship programming and resources. This role involves coordinating projects and initiatives that connect faculty, students, industry, community, and government partners.
The specialist supports research dissemination, knowledge mobilization, and strategic engagement through events and communications and plays an active role in building and sustaining relationships that enhance the visibility and impact of the centre’s initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Designs and leads partnership engagement activities with industry, community, and government organizationsCultivates and maintains long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders and identifies opportunities for collaborative research, sponsorship, and joint initiatives,in collaboration with leadershipSupports all stages of strategic engagement events, including providing input to concept development and partner engagement,logistics, communications, and post-event evaluation, coordinating tasks, timelines, and deliverablesDevelops project plans in consultation with leadership and faculty, monitors project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, and reports on outcomesLeads activities that support research dissemination and knowledge mobilization, such as workshops, symposia, public reports, and materials that link academic outputs to industry and community needsRepresents the centre in select partnership meetings and events, alongside or on behalf of leadershipContributes to communication strategies, briefings, presentations, and follow-up materials in collaboration with internal communications professionalsProposes event budgets, tracks expenditures, and maintains financial and procurement documentation in coordination with internal financial staffReviews internal processes and data management systems related to partnerships, communications, and outcomes, and identifies opportunities for improvementCoordinates event logistics, such as venue arrangements, speaker coordination, registrations, and participant communicationsDevelops and implements digital and print communication materials and outreach activities, including newsletters, social media content and initiatives, promotional materials, event summaries, and website updates in collaboration with internal communications professionalsMonitors engagement metrics and prepares summary reports to support evaluation and continuous improvement of outreach activitiesMaintains records of partnership interactions, agreements, and engagement activities to support continuity and institutional knowledgeSupports the preparation of internal reports, summaries, and materials required for institutional planning, governance, or external reportingAttends entrepreneurship ecosystem events to support relationship development with internal and external stakeholders and reports back on insights and trendsCommunicates and acts in a respectful and professional manner, collaborates effectively, abides by policy, and contributes to a positive and productive work and learning environmentEngages in continuous learning by participating in activities, training, and events related to Indigenous engagement, reconciliation, equity, diversity, and inclusionDemonstrates respect and dignity for all members of the community, actively contributes to an environment of acceptance and inclusion of others, and responds to different perspectives from a place of curiosity, respect, and non-judgementUndertakes related duties, as assigned, consistent with the nature of the positionQualifications:
